Upcoming Meridian Meet
Lincoln Vulcans and Louth Swimming Clubs will be jointly hosting our...
Vulcans swimmers delivered some fantastic performances at the East Midlands Regional Short Course Championships this weekend. Holly, Alex, Katie, Tom and Amy competed and we also had Mia qualify, but sadly she couldn’t attend due to contracting COVID.
Holly was the top performer collecting a total of 6 medals including 3 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronzes across a wide range of events – the standout of which was a commanding victory in the 15/u 200m Individual medley where she destroyed the field to win by over 3.5 seconds.
Alex set several lifetime bests, and qualified for her first ever regional final in the 200 freestyle event. Alex swam superbly taking 6 seconds of her best time in the heats and a little bit more in the final, but fell agonisingly short of the national qualifying time by 0.45 seconds.
Katie is back on PB pace after having had COVID in the summer, and qualified for the open 100 fly final in a strong field, placing 8th.
Tom produced 2 solid performances in the 50 Free and Fly, setting PB times in both. And although Amy was just off PB, she swam her second fastest ever 50 Back, and was one of only a handful of 13-year-olds at the meet. Which is a great achievement in itself.
Well done swimmers!
