It’s been a busy week for swimmers at Lincoln Vulcans Swimming Club, including County, Regional & National training Camp!
First up on Sunday 24th was the East Midlands Development Day where Alice (1st image) and Evie (2nd image) headed over to Repton school along with Head Coach Adam McIntyre (Skills Coach) and senior swimmer Katie (team manager) who were both selected to support this event. The swimmers spent the day working on all 4 stroke techniques with a focus on efficiency and body position. Only 36 swimmers from the region were selected based on their performances in the summer and had to have finished in the top 3 in their age group – great achievement from the girls!
Next up was the county development day on Thursday where 7 Vulcans were in attendance from the 8 selected based on their race performance. Congratulations to Dan, Jacob H, Jacob G, Lewis, Hannah, Lily, Karolina & Robert! They spent the day developing their turn skills including body alignment, rotations and underwater work with the support of Skills coaches Adam, Lorraine, Gemma & Lee along with the Lead Land training coach Katie. It was great to have such a big Vulcans presence on the day.
Finally, at the end of the week was the National Development Camp. Swimmers had the opportunity to learn about nutrition for health, performance, swimming and growth; with the chance to work on shoulder capacity and hip endurance in strength and conditioning - All delivered by the Swim England Talent Team. Mia (3rd image) was, selected based on her rankings and performances at a National and Regional level.
Well done all!
