How long have you been coaching with the club?
I have been coaching with LVSC in Transition for over three years. However, my daughter (Emily Walsh) began swimming for LVSC in 2010 and originally became involved with the club as a Gala Official at that time.
What’s your favourite thing about coaching?
Seeing the swimmers’ progress. To see a nervous, learn to swim swimmer progress to a confident competent swimmer ready to complete
Why did you start coaching?
To give something back to the club once my daughter left to go to Uni
What’s your sporting background?
Swim for fitness as well as love to hike. I have general fitness interests including core development and experience in nutrition.
What’s your favourite stroke?
Breaststroke
What’s your favourite Drill?
Head-lead body dolphin, arms by sides, breathing every time for age groups swimmers. This enhances the swimmer’s recognition of the correct body position and undulation required for butterfly which is then followed by a leg kick which is strengthened by not using the arms.
