Regional SC report

A very busy weekend with Vulcans represented on 86 occasions, 12 of them were finals appearances. As a team we achieved: 3 Bronze medals, 21 Top10 placings, 38 PB’s and another 6 National Short Course Qualification times that will be contested in December.

Stand out swimmers include: Grace Wilson (14) and Danny Gagg (19) who agonisingly fell short of all three Breaststroke National QT’s. Sophie Hart (14) and Cameron Chow (15) added events to their National’s schedule and along with Abi Burr (17) and Tara Haworth (16). Burr and Haworth proved that they always have the ability to step up in finals by setting 4 new personal bests and gaining a National QT from 5 races between them within the space of an hour!

Head coach, Michael Glossop, states: “The performance gains are clear to see but I am also very impressed with how the team conduct themselves in a pressured environment. If we don’t win then we certainly learn. We’re laying solid foundations ready to make an assault on the medals table to show that so called “small clubs” can compete against the "funded, big clubs."
